White Rose Novice Diving Competition 2012
13th - 14th October 2012 - Leeds
One of the main Novice diving invitational competitions of the year, the White Rose Competition draws many of the best novice divers in the country to compete their 12 'Skills' dives in the atmosphere and format of the National Skills Competition in May of next year.
Hosted by The City of Leeds Diving Club, home to Team GB divers Rebecca Galantree, Hannah Starling and Jack Laugh
, some of who participated in a diving show on the Saturday to a packed crowd.
On the Sunday there was a 'Clown Show' performed by the elite divers of the club (wearing some seriously dodgy neon outfits!!), who performed many heart-stopping stunts off of all the platforms and boards, with many of the entries making you wince, and was definitely a performance to remember!
The White Rose is a two part competition, where the '12 skills' competition was classed as the preliminary, with the top six competing in the final that consisted of the two optional dives from the 1m and a 3m skill of their choice.
Three divers travelled up to Leeds for the weekend to compete and all three came in 8th place in their respective competitions; all only two points or less from the final.
