East Region Skills Competition
25th March - Stevenage
Dacorum Diving Club took a team of 12 divers to this years Regional Skills (Level 2) Competition, were they competed against divers from Bedofrdshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk.
This competition was run in the National Skills format, consisting of poolside, 1m and 3m boards run in a circuit format,where all three stations run at the same time and each group moves onto the next board when all divers in that round have finished (gymnastics apparatus rotations format). The divers had to compete four set dives, or skills from each board, and to progress to the National Skills competition, they had to get above a ASA set qualifying score.
After an exciting day of competition, three Dacorum divers became Regional Skills Champions, along with 1 silver and 2 bronze medallists; each competiton age group that featured a Dacorum diver had a medal winner; a great accomplishment.
